Now, after ten anonymous years in a grotty Parisian Banlieue, she receives a terminal cancer diagnosis, and returns to London in the hopes of reconciling with her now adult daughter and spending her last days with the only family she has. But criminals have long memories, and no one is happy to see Jessica return. She makes her way to her daughter’s house only to be thrown out by her son in law, Harry, the adulterous family man who knows Jessica for what she really is – bad news. No sooner is she turned away she is snatched off the streets by Maltese Alfred, a man who claims she owes him four hundred grand. Alfred offers her a way out – pay back the money, or have her family killed. He then ejects her onto the streets, where she must come up with a ploy to get the money.
